The former Brazilian president arrested after being deemed a risk of fleeing
Jair Bolsonaro has been taken into custody after authorities concluded he posed a concrete flight risk while under home confinement.
The ex-president was sentenced of planning a government overthrow in September and given more than over two decades in incarceration, but he continued under home detention pending legal challenges.
High Court Judge Justice Moraes said the action to imprison the 70-year-old politician was a preventative measure after fresh information emerged.
This included seeking to disable his ankle monitor and a invitation to a public vigil that could "allow for a chance to flee".
